LG StandByMe Go is a interesting smart TV inside of a Briefcase

LG may be gone from the smartphone business, but when it comes to the range of displays it is alive and kicking! The giant keeps pushing interesting smart TVs and displays, and there is a new interesting concept that may be the perfect one for travel. Perhaps, you’re on a trip and want to enjoy your content with a good-quality panel. LG developed a new device called StandByMe GO. It’s a portable 27-inch 1080p LCD screen that LG calls an “All-In-One Portable Entertainment System”. The most interesting detail about this TV is it is built into a briefcase, making it very convenient for traveling.

LG StandByMe Go – An Interesting Portable TV

The screen ingeniously pops out of the briefcase via a small stand. It offers the flexibility to rotate for landscape or portrait viewing. It can also stand flat, transforming it into a gigantic tablet platform for playing any content you wish. For instance, you can use a portable display for gaming and other sort of things. There is only one HDMI port, but considering this is a “handheld TV” it’s pretty much easy to understand the reason. You can plug in your gaming laptop, Steam Deck, or even a smartphone.

The LG StandByMe GO has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. You can install NVIDIA GeForce Now or Xbox Cloud Gaming and stream games. You just need proper internet and a Bluetooth controller. If you’re missing internet, you can use the GO with Bluetooth, Screen Share, or Apple AirPlay. The TV boasts an “Outdoor Brightness Control” feature that amplifies peak brightness. One of the downsides of the TV is that it supports only a 60 Hz refresh rate. So, it’s a standard display with an average refresh rate.

The LG StandByMe Go has a battery so you can easily use it without a power source. LG states that it can be used for about 3 hours. The only missing detail is the weight of this “briefcase TV”. LG does not list the weight anywhere, but it should be as heavy as the 27-inch TV should be and we also need to consider the battery inside.

The LG StandbyMe GO portable touchscreen is up for pre-order on the LG website for $999.99. Each pre-order includes a complimentary LG XBoom 360 Bluetooth speaker to make the deal more interesting. The shipments will start later this month, but the exact date is yet to be revealed.
